Member of Luxembourg 2007 Office visits Sibiu
A member of Luxembourg 2007 Office in charge with the relation with Sibiu is visiting our city between March 30 and April 1.
Anne Schiltz, recently appointed, studied Cultural Anthropology in Brussels, has good knowledge on Romania and is currently finalising her doctorate thesis about „Ancient Neighbourhood Associations in Transylvania”.
Her visit is intended as a fact finding mission aimed at meeting and knowing the cultural operators in Sibiu.
„My responsability is to create the ties between the programme of Luxembourg and the one of Sibiu so I will concentrate on innitiating partnerships and discussing common projects”, explained Anne Schiltz.
Programme Sibiu 2007 presented before the representatives of the 25 EU countries
Two representatives of the Association Sibiu European Cultural Capital 2007 presented an outline of the Sibiu 2007 Programme in Luxembourg at a conference of cultural directors of the foreign affairs ministries of the 25 EU member states.
General Coordinator Cristian Radu and the Communication Responsable Marius Constantin were special guests alongside the General Coordinator of Luxemburg 2007 Programme Robert Garcia in the conference organized by the EU Presidency, presently hold by Luxemburg.
The confecence which took place between March 16 and 19 at the Cultural Centre Abbayee de Neumuenster had as main objective discussing the role of an possible cultural European identity could have in the common EU policies.
Cristian Radu and Marius Constantin presented the main orientations for 2007 when Sibiu and Luxembourg will share the title of European Cultural Capital.
Sergiu Nistor, the Commissioner responsible for Sibiu 2007, held a speech about the involvement of the the Romanian Government in the Programme.
After the end of the conference the two representatives of Sibiu remained in Luxembourg three more days to meet the staff of the Luxembourg 2007 Office for an information exchange about the progress of the preparations. The two also met managers and programmers of different institutes and associations interested in partnership projects with Sibiu.
